On Monday 13 April on Channel 5 the Harry Potter Marathon continues with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The first instalment of the oscar-winning eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander.

Two unmissable events that tell the story of Newt Scamander, brilliant magizoologist who in 1920s America dedicates his life to the study of magical creatures.

After the extraordinary success of the Harry Potter saga re-enacted on Italy 1, Mediaset does not stop, but rather continues the marathon of the Harry Potter saga. It proposes for next week the "prequel" saga of J.K. Rowling's literary world, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them". The latest film in the Hogwarts wizard saga, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2" has captured nearly 5 million viewers. It became the most-watched film in the entire saga during this marathon. We'll see what the reception will be for the first film inspired by the adventures of Professor Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) around the world in search of magical creatures.

When it airs

The film "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" will air on Monday 13 April on Channel 5. This time it is changing the channel for the film directed again by David Yates, director who has directed more than any other films inspired by the literary saga of J.K. Rowling. The film is set in 1926 and magizoologist Newt Scamander arrives in New York City to search for new magical creatures. Beware, however, MACUSA, the Magical Congress of the United States of America, finds itself faced with a dark threat. The cast also stars Eddie Redmayne, Ezra Miller, Colin Farrell, Dan Fogler, Katherine Waterston and Johnny Depp.

The film set 70 years before Harry Potter

All the adventures of the new "Fantastic Beasts" saga are based on the textbook that students use at Hogwarts "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them", written by Newt Scamander. Events take place 70 years before the events of the Harry Potter saga. Eddie Redmayne has always been the favourite for the role of Newt Scamander. The director and production preferred him to Matt Smith and Nicholas Hoult. Although the film is set in the United States and particularly in 192nd New York, it was shot between London and Liverpool.

The Link to Harry Potter

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is set about 70 years before the Harry Potter events. The film, however, is not a prequel, but "an extension of the world of magic", as the writer J.K. Rowling pointed out. The connection with the original saga, however, is very strong, as can be seen from the trailer for which the same soundtrack was used, so familiar to fans of the magician. Newt also studied and attended the Hogwarts school as a professor and is very attached to Albus Dumbledore, just like Harry. The magizoologist's grandson will marry Potter's schoolmate Luna Lovegood.
Waiting for the second chapter of Fantastic Beasts, unfortunately I must remember that the third and final chapter has been further delayed due to the current crisis.
